The final day of Bumbershoot has a huge lineup of female performers. So many, in fact, I split the day’s highlights into two. Part one, exclusively female, includes artists from Kailee Morgue to Olivia O’Brien. There are some hard choices to make on this midafternoon schedule.

Kailee Morgue @ the Main Stage, 1:45-2:15

Her song “Medusa” is based on the mythological figure, Medusa, who Morgue explains, “. . . was cursed with snakes for hair and a hideous face over something that wasn’t her fault. It’s actually a tragic story, but people perceive her as a monster. So, she takes on the leadership role of the ‘broken’ in the song.”

She’s interested in Wicca.

She provided the vocals to Norwegian artist Bearson’s “Go To Sleep.”

The five-piece band bases itself in Los Angeles.

Singer Grave, is actually the alter ego of singer Grace McKagan.

McKagan is the daughter of Guns N’ Roses bassist Duff McKagan, with wife Susan Holmes, designer and model.

Vos experienced postpartum depression after she gave birth to her son.

She’s gained a strong reputation for being a feminist artist.

Jacqueline just got engaged in March.

Bird is a Londoner country artist.

She started doing shows in her early teens.

She covered Son House’s 1965 blues track, “Grinnin’ in Your Face.”


Olivia O’Brien @ Fisher Green Stage, 4:45-5:35

A Californian, O’Brien released her debut EP, It’s Not That Deep, in 2017.

She was fifteen years old when she provided vocals for gnash’s “i hate u, i love u.”

Director Chandler Lass directed the videos for “Empty” and “RIP.”


Bishop Briggs @ the Main Stage, 4:45-5:30

Briggs wrote the music and lyrics on her debut album, Church of Scars.

Born in London as Sarah Grace McLaughlin, Brigg’s song “River” was her breakthrough song.

She worked with Cold War Kids last year on the track “So Tied Up.”


Sasha Sloan @ Mural Ampitheatre, 5:25-6:10

Sasha Sloan’s real name is Alexandra Artourovna Yatchenko.

She sang on Odesza’s song, “Falls.”

Sloan has worked with Charli XCX.
