We’re continuing our coverage of Capitol Hill Block Party with photographer Simon Krane’s shots from Friday, Day 1 of the festival. Top headliner of that day on the Main Stage was Sub Pop Records’ Wolf Parade, an indie quartet from Canada. Look for the release of their new album, Cry Cry Cry, on October 6th. Other acts appearing on the Main Stage were rapper Noname and Virginia indie artist Lucy Dacus. Krane also hung out at Neumos, getting pictures of Seattle outfits Fauna Shade and Eastern Souvenirs; he also spent a great chunk of time at the outside Vera Stage, photographing electronic act Austra, another indie band (yay!), Cherry Glazerr and Oregon’s flor. By the way, you’ll get several chances to catch flor this September while they open for Atlas Genius, including a Seattle, September 26th date. Last up? Seattle’s The Gods Themselves down in Barboza.
