Seattle’s Tacocat puts on a benefit for Short Your Abortion this Friday night, January 20th at Barboza. Joined by Wimps and Black Tones, Tacocat gives their fans a chance to enjoy the group’s awesome music, with ALL proceeds going to SYA. Not familiar with SYA? I encourage you to inform yourself via the organization’s site, and I can say that, at its core, it’s a movement for women to keep reproductive rights up to women.
Though Friday’s show is sold out, the catchy-tuned and charming quartet hit the road in early February, with two dates at Coachella in April. And I mean they’re actually playing Coachella, with actual festival dates. Part of the festival. They’re on the poster! Yes! More excitement for the band includes last year’s second album on the Hardly Art label, Lost Time. With tracks lovingly-titled “Dana Katherine Scully” and “Horse Grrls,” Lost Time snagged a high spot on Paste’s top 50 albums of ’16 (Tacocat was #27).
Roar into ’17, Tacocat!
