On September 17th, the powerful punk rock trio Blink-182: Mark Hoppus, Travis Barker and Matt Skiba, headlined Seattle’s largest concert venue, KeyArena. Blink-182 – after a major lineup change in 2015 when singer/guitarist (and a founding member) Tom DeLonge departed to pursue other interests – honored their home state this year with the album California. . . and added a new singer/guitarist in the form of Alkaline Trio’s Matt Skiba. . . very cool choices. Skiba had bonded with the band by replacing DeLonge for a few shows, and so, Blink-182 knew this would be, as the expression goes, “a good match.” And that was great news for Blink-182 fans. As California‘s sound looks back a bit, and that’s quite wonderful, the band moves always forward in this new formation.
