Show Preview: ZEDS DEAD @ the Neptune, Wednesday 11/25 & Friday 11/27
ZEDS DEAD (you read that right, no apostrophe in this name!) have a “2 Night Stand” at the Neptune this Thanksgiving time. Comprised of DC and Hooks, ZEDS DEAD combines a variety of sub genres within electronic music. The Toronto-based duo have remixed so many artists’ work, from Broken Bells to Foo Fighters. ZEDS DEAD’s albums, mostly released on Diplo’s Mad Decent label (home of Diplo, Dillon Francis, Tiga, Yellow Claw, and more), create tremendous DJ power and variety. But when I say album, I mean digital or vinyl only. Forget about CDs. Forget about everything and lose yourself in the awesome music.
As a result of ZEDS DEAD not tying themselves down by one sub genre, fans do not have to decide among sounds such as electro, bass or dubstep: you get them all. I think this pretty cool. For those of you have no idea what these sub genres are, just think along the lines of getting some rap (with Omar LinX), some heavy bass, some house and some whatever-they-want-to-do.
Note: Wednesday’s show is +21, while Friday’s is all ages.
