I’m a history buff, and a music fan of mostly all things British, so it’s no mystery why I would be so into Public Service Broadcasting. The British duo, J. Willgoose, Esq. & Wrigglesworth (if that’s their real names. . .) put fabulous electronic tunes with British (and German) news announcements and war propaganda or safety warnings – with such things as the occasional explanation of what a Spitfire is (“Spitfire”). It’s all quite strange and wonderfully obsessed with the aural aspects of war. Nectar in Fremont has the band for Sunday night, and I urge you to check them out. It will be a uniquely cool experience. You can also listen to them Sunday at noon before the show when they do an in-studio on KEXP.
