Show Preview: City Arts w/The Maldives, Two Door Cinema Club, Friends & The Grizzled Mighty – Day 4, Sat. 10/20

**TICKET ALERT: Music, Arts, and VIP wristbands are now sold out (single tickets to shows and arts events, and Culture Club passes are still on sale.**

Okay, I might be a little unfair here by focusing only on three of the seven venues for City Arts Fest’s final day, Saturday October 20th, but I will do it anyway. Why am I doing this? Mostly because I have seen many of these bands and/or BBS writer Holly Cartwright, who appeared last week on Hollow Earth Radio, and I agree on them. You can hear some of Cartwright’s City Arts Fest-oriented chat on The Shit Show with Jaybo right here: Grizzled Mighty, The Maldives & Trips to Portland. And consult my reasons for why you should hang out at Barboza, Showbox SoDo or Neumos on Saturday night – you can even go back and forth between Neumos and Barboza:

Check out a couple of Stephanie tracks. Pretty cool, right?

Hobosexual wants to rock with you. You want to rock with them. This is a simple equation.

You can get crazy when Hounds of the Wild Hunt play. It’s okay. It’s encouraged.

9:00 – “The Rolling Stones”

Seattle’s own “The Rolling Stones,” a band who happens to cover The Rolling Stones.

Showbox SoDo:

8:00St. Lucia

St. Lucia, aka Jean-Philip Grobler, starts the night at Showbox SoDo. You can hear some of his dynamite synth/melodic music on SoundCloud.

I saw Motopony a few months ago and got drawn into their inclusive sound. These guys can capture an audience.

New York’s Friends self-produced their debut, Manifest!, which you can stream by following this link. They will put on a good show.

10:30Two Door Cinema Club

Two Door Cinema is one of my favorite bands. Prepare to hear songs off their new album, Beacon. I know, I know, you can’t wait. Seriously.

9:15Davidson Hart Kingsbery

There’s a lot of Americana music in Seattle. Davidson Hart Kinsgbery is among the tasty Americana in Seattle.

10:00 The Grizzled Mighty

Another of this publication’s heavily covered bands is The Grizzled Mighty. I love them. Do not miss them – you will be swallowed up by the duo’s stormy blues.

Septet The Maldives headline the evening in one of the final City Arts Fest’s shows. The Maldives are an unstoppable force.
