City Arts Fest has shows going on all over the city starting on Wednesday, October 17th. Day number two of the festival pops up on my radar with shows by Lucy Schwartz, A Fine Frenzy and SSION. And others. Here are some of my picks – just my picks, if these are not your choices there is so much more for you to pick from on the festival’s full schedule. Have fun at the shows!
7:45 – Lucy Schwartz @ the Moore
Lucy Schwartz, who now has 2 EPs and 2 LPs to her credit, opens for A Fine Frenzy and Joshua Radin. Schwartz is only 22.
8:30 A Fine Frenzy @ the Moore
Born in Seattle and now a Goodwill Ambassador, A Fine Frenzy (aka Alison Sudol), has a brand new album out called Pines. A Fine Frenzy is touring North America with Joshua Radin.

10:00 Joshua Radin @ the Moore
The multi-talented Radin headlines the Moore by most likely doing many songs off his latest, Underwater.

10:30 SSION @ Rendezvous
I highly recommend you see this show, not only because SSION looks fantastic, but because the music sounds like some excellent synth disco. YES! The name is pronounced shun, by the way.
9:30 – Elliot Smith Tribute @ the Can Can
The Can Can hosts an Elliott Smith Tribute including performances by Dan Miles, Kris Orlowski and Kevin Long. Get there early to catch all the artists involved.
