Sola Rosa has come to the States – all the way from New Zealand, so the very, very least you could do is check them out tomorrow night (that’s Thursday, December 1st). They’ll be at Neumos with Orgone, and the funk-filled evening should be something totally different from what you might normally enjoy on Capitol Hill. Led by Andrew Spraggon, who won a New Zealand Music Award in 2009 for best producer, Sola Rosa is a band to catch. $15 & over 21.
Also tomorrow night Chop Suey hosts Rockers & Rollers 8, a benefit for Tilted Thunder Rail Birds (a bank tracked all-female roller derby!). On the bill are Indecisive Rhythm, Panama Gold and Pony Time. Great show for a great organization. $10 adv/$12/doors & over 21.
