Show Previews: Bumbershoot, Day 1 – Sat. 9/3

Bumbershoot is almost here! Day one of the festival is Saturday, September 3rd and will include a fine lineup of artists including locals Champagne Champagne, Shelby Earl, The Presidents of the United States of America, Emmett Montgomery, Pickwick and Beat Connection. You won’t be able to see every single event, but here are a few of potential interest. All times are P.M. – but get some tasty food and drink early and often during the day. You will need sustenance.

2:15 – 3:15 Champagne Champagne @ the Fisher Green Stage. I like Cava, Prosecco, Brut and Champagne Champagne. This band is a sexy, crowd-satisfying, talented bundle. See what they do outdoors.

2:30 – 3:30 Wagons @ the Starbucks Stage
Melbourne, Australia’s Wagons play the Starbucks Stage (the Mural). Don’t miss them.

3:00 – 4:00 Shelby Earl @ the EMP Level 3 Stage
Earl has an avian voice that will smooth you out. Have a listen to KEXP’s Song of the Day featuring Shelby Earl’s Under Evergreen.

2:45 – 4:00 The Presidents of the United States of America @ the Mainstage
The beloved PUSA, of course.

4:45 – 5:45 Weird and Awesome with Emmett Montgomery @ the Vera Project
Emmett Montgomery is funny. That’s really not enough to say about a comedian but it’s really what you need to know. I could tell you all about a comedian’s style or whatever but it wouldn’t matter if he’s not funny. Emmett Montgomery is funny.

5:00 – 6:00 PS I Love You @ the Fountain Lawn Stage
I have a copy of PS I Love You’s Meet Me at the Muster Station. It’s quite the distinctive album, and quite excellent as it turns out.

6:00 – 7:00 Pickwick @ the EMP Level 3 Stage
Pickwick looks like a fun live band. That’s enough for me to say, check them out.

Pickwick

6:00 – 6:50 Beat Connection @ the Decibel Stage at the EMP Sky Church
Beat Connection is signed to the Tender Age record label, and though you’ll get a chance to see them again in Seattle for Decibel Festival, why not catch them twice? Hear more Beat Connection.
