Let’s get this out of the way first thing: Liam Finn is Neil Finn’s son (Neil Finn of Crowded House and Split Enz). The New Zealand musician’s got one EP out, I’ll Be Lightning and one LP, Champagne in Seashells, and he’s at the Crocodile tomorrow night, Tuesday March 29th. He possesses an endearing and intimate sound. Opening for Finn are the Luyas, a Canadian band whose second album, Too Beautiful to Work just came out on Dead Oceans. Tix!
Ha Ha Tonka‘s new CD, Death of a Decade comes out on April 5th. The Missouri band will be at the Tractor Tavern on Wednesday, March 30th for a show with Hoots & Hellmouth and Kasey Anderson, and here’s a fun fact – they’re named after Ha Ha Tonka State Park in Missouri. I also think it’s cool they appeared on Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations (check out the clip below). The episode premieres tonight on the Travel Channel. Grab your tix for Wednesday’s show here.
