Imagine heading to a beautiful resort on Orcas Island where you camp, swim in the bay, play in the fields, hike, and do pretty much anything else you want to do on a vacation resort for a long weekend. Now throw in a bunch of local musicians that you’ve come to know and love meandering around with you and occasionally playing intimate and emotionally charged sets. That’s just the tip of the iceberg in describing Doe Bay Music Fest. Every attendee is just happy to be there, good to their neighbors, and enjoying their gorgeous surroundings. Let’s just say this music lover will be headed back to Doe Bay Music Fest for as long as they’ll have her. Below are just a few of the fantastic bands that performed for the small 1,000-attendee crowd. It also has to be mentioned that every band in attendance were simply amazing, but by far the highlights were the Head and the Heart, Revenna Woods, and Drew Grow and the Pastor’s Wives. Stop by your local record store and get their cds, you won’t be sorry (except for Drew Grow, their first album will be available on September 11th during their cd release at Columbia City Theater. Go). For more shots from the weekend check out the flickr set.
