Show Review & Photos: Kids and Animals @ the Comet

If you missed Friday’s show at the Comet you missed four really awesome local bands, including Kids and Animals (more on the other other bands, Spurm, the Pharmacy and Broken Nobles later). Kids and Animals just proved this past week they can play strong on the radio when they appeared on KEXP, and showed they can hold their own in over 21 venues of differing size (I’ve seen them at the Crocodile as well). What is it I like so much about this band? They’ve got power and nerve – in addition to just sounding amazing. And they bark in Monster’s Heart. It’s wonderful to be able to watch this band develop as they’ve already got an appealing raw quality to them, which they should not lose. They’ve got a few songs from their KEXP performance up on their MySpace already, and have a trio of dates coming up, including all ages Feb 26th and Feb 27th dates and a huge show at the Vera Project with Boat, Feral Children and others on March 19th.
