The few shows I saw at Holy Mountain were certainly memorable – The Whore-Hands, What What Now, A Gun That Shoots Knives, The Ironclads… all bands I love and was willing to stand in a room full of cigarette smoke for. Before the smoking ban, I had to choose shows carefully since I tend to pass out if enclosed in a smoke-filled space.
Even so, I liked the Holy Mountain venue and was bummed when they closed down. The shows there were crazy and fun and had a do-what-you-will underground vibe. I was so pleased to learn that Holy Mountain is back, now named The Black Lodge (Twin Peaks reference, I assume) and is now non-smoking – woo!
