I’m heading out to this year’s West Seattle Summer Festival Friday after work mainly for Mudhoney, though the rest of the evening’s lineup, including Mark Pickerel & His Praying Hands and Black Panties is certainly worth the trip. The festivities and music continue Saturday and Sunday.
I haven’t seen Mudhoney in nearly a year, since they (or No Age – who were amazing) over-rocked KEXP‘s parking lot PA system. I shouldn’t blame the bands as I don’t know what actually happened – mid-way through Mudhoney’s set, a horrible melting-plastic smell overtook those of us at the stage and the sound cut out. I fled before the situation was remedied and Mudhoney finished their set.
Are you heading out to the festival? Taking pix? Throw them in the Backbeat Seattle photo pool!
